Raw Reality of Making $500K/year in Sales

I grew up poor.

My parents came immigrated to the US before I was born and started a small Chinese restaurant in Eugene, Oregon.

One of the few Chinese families in town.

I saw them toil and work their tails off for years.

They didn't make very much (restaurant margins are slim) but they were frugal.

They saved and invested every penny.

As a kid, they pushed me to become a doctor, lawyer, or surgeon.

So I could make "doctor money." ($200K+ was the benchmark in little Eugene, OR)

But I didn't.

I dropped out of architecture school instead and went in "undeclared."

When I eventually graduated college in 2007 with a double major in Business and Chinese, I went from working 3 jobs making minimum wage...to $29,500/year.

I felt rich lol.

However, I knew I could earn more.

Maybe not "doctor money" but hopefully at least $100K/year by 30...

So fast forward 10 years and when I hit over $500K/year by 31 for the first time?

It broke my world.

It was hard for me to wrap my mind around it.

I didn't have any friends in my friend group making over $250K/year at that time.

It's been 9 years now and I've been fortunate to have made well over that every single year since.

But here's the thing:

It's not all "sunshine and rainbows."

There are things that I didn't realize until I got to that point.

Things that I wish I knew.
